Damaged by Pamela Callow is Book 1 in the Kate Lange Thriller series. As I read the first chapters, I suspected another Pygmillion-type novel. To my delight, it was much more than that.

Kate Lange, the protagonist, enters a law firm with the hopes of becoming a partner and a great lawyer. Will her damaged self-confidence prevent her from achieving her goals?

As Kate is assigned new cases, she discovers information that puts her in the eyes of a serial killer. Will she survive?

Damaged is a fast passed whodunit with lots of red herrings to keep the reader guessing as to who the serial killer is. I like how Kate Lange’s strength of character and self-identity emerge. I am looking forward to reading more of this series.
