Wow! I loved this book, Cold Comfort by Trevor Douglas, and the female protagonist. Bridgette Cash is a rookie in the Hartbourne Metropolitan Police. Extremely intelligent, loyal, and experienced in martial arts, she struggles with a family history that makes her an outcast among her coworkers. (her mother was murdered and her father, a police detective, was accused of the killing).

When Bridgette analyzes the death of young women, she makes the case for a serial killer. As she convinces her partner and chief, she sets herself up as the next victim.

I enjoyed the character development and the intertwining plots. I was sorry to see the death of a leading character. I look forward to more books in this series. I highly recommend this extremely enjoyable thriller, Cold Comfort.
