I really enjoyed reading the fast-paced thriller, Face of Death by Blake Pierce, book 1 in the Zoe Prime Mystery. I could not put this book down. The story is original and the characters are very real.

Zoe Prime is an FBI agent with an unusual talent, she sees the world in numbers. This ability prevents Zoe from keeping a partner until Shelley. The two develop into a formidable team that tries to capture an apophenic serial killer who tends to see meanings in random patterns.

If you like a strong but tarnished female protagonist who races against time to capture a serial killer Face of Death is a good book for you. I particularly liked how Blake Pierce developed the character by letting us see the world through Zoe’s eyes. If you dislike highly detailed information, you may want to read a different series, but do read books by this author.
