The Peripheral by William Gibson is the first book I read by this author and it will be my last. The prose is extremely difficult to read and I was running to the dictionary to try to understand the jumble of words put on the page. The characters are flat and the ending left me as confused as at the beginning.

Perhaps this story would be better cinematically, especially with the dialog, but as a novel, it is a fizzle.
