The Scarlet Tanager by Emigh Cannaday is the third book in the Annika Brisby Series and my favorite of the three. I enjoyed the tension created between Annika and Finn, her brother-in-law. Ms. Cannaday’s writing is such that I was torn between rooting for Finn or Talvi as the recipient of Annika’s attention.

This is a much more sensuous book than the predecessors and I particularly enjoyed Annika’s dreams. The final chapter is a cliff-hanger. I can’t wait for the sequel.
