Blue Skies by T. L. Martin is so much more than a steamy contemporary romance or a coming of age novel. It is about learning to stand on your feet in difficult times, about living in the moment and not fast-forwarding through life and “the magic of the moments we’re making until we’re old enough to pause and view them as memories.”

The characters are complex, their pain is palpable, and their insights are hopeful. Parental abandonment, loneliness, addiction are but a few of the book’s subtopics. Others are much more sensitive and surprising.

The book is easy to read and written from two points of view: Blue’s and Hunt’s. The past is fast, especially the titillating scenes.

If you enjoy coming of age books with steamy romance, do not miss Blue Skies. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the introspection, growth, and positivity especially in difficult times.
