Eden St. Michel by F. R. Jameson is a formulaic noir novel. The protagonist, Joe Jones becomes enamored from the moment he first saves the actress Eden St.Michel. A tumultuous relationship develops as he continues to “save” his beloved.

The story is told from both points of view. Joe cannot help himself and Eden claims no culpability for his actions, even saying she tried to prevent his retaliations.

The characters are well developed and the action is swift. I recommend this to those who enjoy this genre.
