I found this psychological thriller very interesting and was unsure of the murderer until the last few pages. Was it the husband or the psychiatrist?
Dr. Farquhar’s character is well fleshed out and it is easy to identify with his dilemma. His Freudian methodology seems archaic, but he insists that through the analysis of dreams he can help Lucas Bonaventure understand himself and his motives. Distrustful of the current psychoanalytical approaches, he preserves in his attempts to save Lucas.
But who is the master? The doctor or the patient? Will the police be able to discover the real murderer before he murders again?
If you enjoy difficult-to-solve, suspenseful thrillers, then I recommend The Oedipus Murders. I am sure it will entertain you.
