I had a hard time staying focused on reading the short story A Lesson in Crime by Wes Markin. I found the characters underdeveloped and storyline confusing as it flopped between years. There was no suspense and the ending was anticlimactic.

A Lesson in Crime is book 0 in the DCI Yorke Thriller series. Hopefully, other books in the series will be better written.
