Learning the nuances of blogging and content management

Today I listened to a webinar on content strategy. I learned that my Web site is really a blog, but with managed content. As I tried to implement some of the ideas mentioned, I ran into problems.

I spent a lot of time and research in trying to figure out how to get the RSS feed from the Women of the Way Web site to link with Facebook so my posts will automatically show on Facebook. I now realize that I will need to update the Web page to be able to add the apps and widgets that I want. I am using WordPress.com (which does not require a host site) and need to use WordPress.org and then pay for a host. This switch should permit me to better personalize the Women of the Way blog [Web page].

All of this might seem easy to those of you who are technologically savvy, but to me it is very difficult. I am running into more snafus resulting from my ignorance.  I am slowly learning the ropes, fortunately the mistakes have not been too bad, just time-consuming to repair.
