For me, the best part of  CAMINO SKETCHBOOK by Janette Watson are the sketches, especially the final one of the cathedral. I am so glad that Ms. Watson found the energy each day after walking 25 or more kilometers to take out her art supplies and draw. Since most of the artwork is colored, I recommend viewing them on a color e-reader to fully appreciate the work.

Ms. Watson’s chronicles the journey on a daily basis and you get a sense of moving along the 500 miles to Santiago de Compostela. Though the story backfills the illustrations and gives an overall idea of what walking the Camino entails, it is not, in my opinion, the highlight of the book–the sketches are.  The book needs editing. I recommend this book for those who can overlook the writing mechanics and appreciate the drawings. The sketches are well worth the price of the book.
