Kudos to Phil Philps for his thrilling and suspenseful novel, Mona Lis’s Secret. There is more than one secret in this book and I enjoyed how each was revealed. Once Joey Peruggia and his girlfriend Marie get to Paris, I could not put the book down. It was one sticky predicament after another and Joey’s unusual way of handling them. McGyver would have been proud.
Except at the beginning when Marie pedantically provides background for the Mona Lisa, the dialog flows well. I particularly enjoyed the banter between Joey and Boise.
Even though Joey endures a lot of physical trauma and demands on his strength and stamina, I was no more distracted by his superhuman abilities than I would have been reading a 007 novel.
This is a great read and I highly recommend it.
